Cooker, the main machine of the fishmeal plant, is designed as a cylinder having a steam heated jacket throughout and a steam heated rotor, designed as a screw conveyor with hollow flights. The rotor is connected to a spherical ball bearing, and its speed is adjusted by an electromagnet governor. Two seal rotary joints are sitting at both ends of the rotor for steam in and condensed water out.
The raw material is cooked by the rotor, hollow flights and the jacket, then transported by the helicoids slowly. During the coagulation of the fish protein, the volume decreases, and the transporting speed become lower. The mass is mixed, agitated, and discharged smoothly by some automatic control equipments.
